Privacy Policy

The short version: nothing you do in Fuzzy Clock ever leaves your Mac. This page explains exactly what the app looks at and why.

What Fuzzy Clock looks at

Fuzzy Clock is a menu bar clock and calendar for macOS. To do its job, it asks permission for two things on your Mac:

Calendar. Fuzzy Clock reads your upcoming events so it can show them in its dropdown. It only reads — it never creates, edits, or deletes anything in your calendar.

Location. Fuzzy Clock uses your Mac's location to work out sunrise, sunset, and solar noon where you are, so its "sky voice" phrasing (like "day's breaking now") matches the actual sky outside. That's the only reason it asks.

Both permissions are the standard macOS system prompts. You can review or revoke either one at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security, and Fuzzy Clock respects that choice immediately — it doesn't ask again or work around it.

What never happens

Fuzzy Clock has no server. It makes no network requests of any kind — nothing is uploaded, synced, logged remotely, or shared with anyone, including us. Specifically:

• No analytics or usage tracking, ours or anyone else's
• No third-party SDKs bundled into the app
• No accounts, sign-in, or user identifiers
• No advertising, ever
• Your calendar and location data never leave your Mac — they're read, used to compute what's on screen in that moment, and not stored anywhere beyond the operating system's own normal caching

What is stored, and where

Your Fuzzy Clock settings — things like your chosen theme or rounding preference — are saved locally on your Mac using Apple's standard UserDefaults system, the same mechanism nearly every Mac app uses for preferences. That's the only thing Fuzzy Clock writes to disk. It stays on your machine and is never transmitted anywhere.

Children's privacy

Fuzzy Clock isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — see above: it doesn't collect information from anyone at all, in the sense of sending it anywhere.

Changes to this policy

If anything here ever changes — say, a future version adds a feature that does talk to a server — this page will be updated first, with a new effective date at the top, before that version reaches anyone.
